Ewell is a village and a parish in Surrey, England. The village stands at the head of the Hogs Mill River and was founded as a spring line settlement where the permeable chalk of the North Downs meets the impermeable London Clay Throughout history in Ewell there have been finds from the Stone Age, the Bronze age and the Iron Age. In the 1086 Domesday Book, it was recorded as a royal manor valued at 16.
